PARUS was created with the aim of controlling the amount of “pine caterpillar” (processionary) in a sustainable way.
As the number of caterpillars increased, there was a need to intervene locally, placing boxes of nests for “chapins” (a bird species). This birds help control caterpillar pests.
The protection of the environment is done through birds and insects, but for this it is also necessary to produce shelters for auxiliary insects.
To reach the objective (environment conservation) we need to produce nest boxes and shelters that work as pest control. There are also dissemination sessions to increase environmental awareness among populations.
